Therefore, I will let you for your opinion based on that story. Maybe I should be grateful they fixed the broken part at cost.
1-If you leave the shop unattended, at least lock up the keys to my car rather than leaving them hanging in an unlocked office.
I happened upon Forest Automotive in 1997 when my 1995 Jeep Wrangler had a catastrophic fuel line failure while I was driving down route 811. Forest Automotive was the closest garage when this happened so I pulled in. This is when I first met Dave George. Over time I have determined that he is one of the most knowledgeable automotive mechanics I ever met. His shop repaired the faulty high pressure fuel line and the price was very reasonable especially taking into account I had a full tank of gas and the fuel tank had to be removed to perform the repair. I found during that first visit that Dave was courteous and explained in infinite detail what maintenance needed to be performed to keep all my vehicles in top running condition. I have been taking my vehicles to Forest Automotive for nearly 20 years and have always been more than satisfied with their level of professionalism and expertise in auto mechanics. As with anything mechanical the unexpected can happen when you start taking things apart and if it did somebody from the shop, usually Dave would call to provide a repair status. If for some reason I was not completely satisfied after a repair the crew at Forest Automotive always took care of it. This didn’t happen often but like I said the unexpected can happen when working on old rusty mechanical devices. With a 30 day guarantee on labor and 365 day on parts you can’t go wrong with this shop folks. I highly recommend Forest Automotive and I wouldn’t take my vehicles anywhere else other than Forest Automotive.
Great Service....One of the employees picks my car up on his way in to work and takes and changes the oil and rotates the tires for me and delivers my car back to me at lunch. Got a great deal on tires.
2-I shouldn’t be waiting on a call from you at closing time every day. Call and communicate, give me time to plan my schedule and to get there to pick up the car before you leave if it is done. If my car isn’t going to be done when you say it is, call me before the time it was supposed to be done.
The best auto mechanics around. Not only do they do a good job on you autos, the also make you feel like you are not being taken. Many times I would go into the shop for something to be cone and they would analyze my specific situation, realize that throwing money after a 170k chevy is throwing money away. They explain all of the options and suggest the one that makes the most since, fix the issue at the best price
Great shop. Guys here are extremely knowledgeable and are always willing to share that knowledge. They are also very good at explaining your options and suggesting what is best for you and not what will make them the most money. Started going here when it was close to my house but I now drive quite a ways to go to them any time one of our vehicles needs any sort of service because they are the best.
Here is my experience with Forest Automotive. I took my car in on a Tuesday for a wheel bearing change. It was supposed to be done that day. I didn’t hear from them all day, therefore I called at 4:58pm, 2 minutes before close. They stated an ABS light had come on and that they hadn’t figured out the problem yet, but that they would try to have it done by noon on Wednesday. By noon on Wednesday, still no word; therefore, I attempted to call, this time no answer. I drove down to the shop to see what was up. The office was open, the shop doors were open, the keys to many of the cars were hanging and tagged in the office. However, there was no one there. I checked the bathroom, the office and walked out to the shop, even waited around for several minutes and finally drove around the building, not a person to be found. Finally, at 5pm, again I call because I hadn’t heard what was up. They stated that somehow a speed sensor had gotten broken and needed to be fixed. They stated they did not know if they caused the problem or if the part was about to break anyway, and would have needed to be replaced soon anyway. They stated in effort to be fair, in their opinion, they would put the new part on with no labor charges and would only charge me for the part at their cost, with no markup.
The reasons I will not be using Forest Automotive:
3-The ABS light wasn’t on when the car came in; there was no problem with the speed sensor until you did your work. Therefore, it seems pretty evident to me that you caused the damage. I should not be charged an extra $200 for you damaging my car.
